Sälen

Sälen in western Sweden and is a skier's paradise with over 100 individual pistes.

It’s the base resort for four major ski resorts: Lindvallen, Högfjället, Tandådalen and Hundfjället. Each area is best suited to beginner and intermediate skiers and riders, with modest vertical and few steep slopes.

Lindvallen is the main resort and offers good skiing and snowboarding, particularly for beginners. The smaller resort of Högfjället (the oldest village in the area) can be reached by lift from Lindvallen and is also best suited for beginners with many of its slopes being green and blue. Most of the slopes near the base are for children and here you’ll find the Knattesvängen adventure area dotted with characters to ski round and between.

The villages of Tandådalen and Hundfjället are linked by a ski lift and there’s many shops, bars and restaurants here to enjoy. Experienced skiers and snowboarders will love Tandådalen which has many of Sälen’s black slopes, it’s also home to Salen’s biggest snow park. Hundfjället is popular with families with young children and the Trollbäckstorget kid’s area has a long conveyer belt, easy to use button lifts and forgiving slopes!

When you travel to Sälen, a holiday in summer is just as enjoyable as it is in winter. Experience the many beautiful hiking and biking trails, fishing in the Västerdal river or canoeing, all whilst taking in the beautiful scenery.

From cosy winter nights in front of an open fire to sunny summer sunsets, Sälen is a year-round resort just waiting to welcome you. What are you waiting for?
