Paris is synonymous with fashion and art. One of the many landmarks that Paris has to offer is The Louvre. Appreciate breath-taking art from the moment you step onto the main courtyard when you see The Louvre Pyramid. Constructed of glass and metal, this amazing feature is the main entrance to the museum and is surrounded by three smaller pyramids. With over 35,000 works to view including ‘The Mona Lisa’ by Leonardo Da Vinci, plan well in advance when travelling so you don’t miss out! Musée d’Orsay was once a train station and is now home to works by Monet, Renoir, Van Gogh, and Toulouse-Lautrec as well as decorative arts from the Art Nouveau.
What was meant to be a temporary structure has now become a permanent spectacle in Paris. The Eiffel Tower stands at 1063 feet and its beacon of light can be seen throughout the city. If you wish to go to the top of the Eiffel Tower, you can take the stairs from the bottom to the second floor which is 674 steps, and then take the lift from there. If you’re feeling adventurous you can take the steps all the way to the top, it’s only 1665 steps! Be sure to check the weather in advance of your trip to guarantee a clear view of the city. Another spectacular sight to behold is the Arc de Triomphe monument which honours those who fought and died during the French Revolution and the Napoleonic Wars.
